I am a final-year post-graduate student of Civil Engineering at Griffith University - Gold Coast campus.
Born and brought up in the valley of Kashmir, I got my bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from Amity University in the capital of India and during my studies there, I worked as an intern at the construction of a Flyover (Grade-separator) & Highway-corridor in my hometown.
I am passionate about infrastructure construction projects, believing that these projects infuse a new life into a community, are the backbone of the nation's economy and directly or indirectly make noticeable improvements in the daily lives of people. Whether it is the construction of a highway connecting remote regions, or whether it is the construction of a dam with the capacity to generate hydroelectricity, such projects can be a game changer, especially for developing countries. And Australia, with its massive land mass and untapped potential, is still undergoing a phase where the new projects have impact on daily lives of common people and I want to be a participant in this change. I am highly interested in road construction and soil mechanics
I am working on becoming an expert in my field and I am working to become a project engineer, managing large infrastructure projects. I have recently started working at Fulton Hogan, doing exactly what I just mentioned.
I often spend my time studying topics of History, Theology and Political philosophies. I am highly interested in Libre/Open Source softwares and Linux operating system.
Outside of Civil Engineering, I aim to engage more into learning python, improve my shell scripting skills and go deeper into my studies of Islamic theology and creed.
